Model Highlights
With retro-styling inspired by the 1930s panel vans that were later converted to surf wagons and hot rods, the unique, front-wheel drive 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser mixes classic styling cues with modern fuel efficiency and conveniences. The versatile seat arrangement in the PT Cruiser wagon allows for more back-seat space than most vehicles its size, and the back seats can either fold forward or be removed completely for expanded cargo space and to accommodate objects up to eight feet long. The convertible model, with its power-retractable soft top, also bows to those who want a little more practicality in an open-air car. The top is insulated for a quieter interior, and even the convertible has a small back seat and reasonably roomy trunk. The PT Cruiser wagon is available in four trim levels--base, Touring, Limited, and GT--while the convertible is only available in base, Touring, and GT trims. A 150-horsepower, 2.4L four-cylinder engine is standard on base, Touring, and Limited models, and can be paired with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. A 180-horsepower, turbocharged 2.4L engine is optional on Limited models, and comes only with an automatic transmission. On the sporty GT model, a 230-horsepower, high-output version of the turbocharged engine is standard, along with a heavy-duty five-speed manual transmission. An automatic with manual control is available on the GT. The base model has power windows and locks, and comes in at an especially low price. The Touring adds many popular features like air conditioning, power mirrors, a fold-flat front passenger seat, and a security alarm, while the Limited includes upgraded, stain-resistant fabric, side airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, cruise control, and a power moonroof. The top-of-the-line, sporty GT adds four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, traction control, 17-inch chrome wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, leather sport seats, and special interior trim. The advanced safety features, such as side air bags and anti-lock brakes, are available at extra cost on the other models. Key options on the luxury-oriented Limited model include heated seats, a Uconnect hand-free phone system, and a Chrome Accents package.
